My Accomplishments in Applied Tech
In Applied Tech, I learned many skills in technology. I have learned how to Photoshop, code, edit videos, and other skills.The first thing I learned was how to Photoshop. I know how to Photoshop a picture onto another picture or, if I want to start from scratch and make my own picture, I can do that. I also know how to code. I learned how to code my own personal webpage just like this one. I now understand some of the terms in coding for example, the open <> and end brackets. I learned this by doing an Azure Microsoft competition which required me to code my own personal webpage. My class won which led to us winning 700 dollars.
My class also got invited to the Microsoft Technology center in Irvine. We met some people who worked for Microsoft and they told us how we can get a job in the Technology field. They also showed us a presentation about the new upcoming items from Microsoft. We got to code, we got to be in a green screen, and we got to learn how to be engineers.
I also learned how to edit videos. I had a group project with three other people. Someone filmed, someone storyboard, someone acted, and the other person edited. I know how to add a title, how to transition two videos into one, and how to add words onto a video.
Not only did we learn about technology skills, but we also learned economic skills. We did an online activity where we pretend that we are entrepreneurs and we start a small business. We hire people, sell items, and take care of bills. In the end, I made about 2,100 dollars.
Recently, my group and I wrote a grant to get solar panels. The solar panels was supposed to be placed outside in the school's garden. In the garden, the solar panels will absorb the suns energy. It's better for the earth and it will give us more energy. My group went outside and took pictures of the garden to show where the solar panels were going to be placed.
